Education

Professor of palliative medicine at University of Helsinki 2014, Associate Professor of oncology and radiotherapy at University of Helsinki 2005, Specialist in oncology and radiotherapy at University of Helsinki 1998, Special qualification in palliative medicine 2007, Diploma of the Nordic Specialist Course in Palliative Medicine in 2005.

Research: Quality of life, availability of palliative care, rehabilitation of cancer patients. Has published more than 100 scientific articles on the long-term harmful effects of cancer treatments, the cost of treating cancer, the availability of end-of-life care of cancer patients and use of resources, and quality of life for cancer patients and palliative care patients.
