Treatment of skin conditions

UV radiation is a form of radiation with a shorter wavelength than visible light, and it is used to treat inflammatory skin conditions. It soothes skin inflammation and reduces itching.  There are also various types of light therapy.

The most common types of skin cancer are basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, i.e., carcinoma spinocellulare, and melanoma.

The incidence of all types of skin cancer has increased worldwide. The most significant risk factor is long-term exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet radiation and repeated sunburn, particularly during childhood and adolescence.

Skin growths can be treated with non-surgical methods, such as cryotherapy or light-activated therapy, or by surgically removing the lesion.

Atopic dermatitis is a common, long-term, or chronically recurring skin condition that can be treated with creams, dressings, and light and drug therapies. The rash is accompanied by intense itching and inflammation of the skin’s outer layer.

The condition is also known as infantile atopic dermatitis. It typically begins in early childhood and subsides during school age, but may reoccur later in young adulthood.
