Cookies

We use cookies on our website to maintain some core functions and user sessions.

The data in the cookies are used for improving the website interface and user experience, and for statistical monitoring of visitor numbers.

Users can disable cookies in their browser settings or by using the website’s cookie management tool. However, using the site without cookies may affect the functionality of certain pages, such as those with embedded videos.

Essential cookies

Essential cookies help to make the website usable by allowing basic features, such as page navigation. The website will not work properly without these cookies.

Essential cookies on the website are related to

  • the management of cookie consents
  • the operation of chat and bot services, such as whether chat windows remain visible between page loads, as well as to the monitoring of the performance of these chat and bot services and detecting error situations
  • security solutions for website protection.

Non-essential cookies

As a general rule, the website does not use non-essential cookies, as hus.fi strives to enable cookie-free browsing in all situations where cookies are not necessary for the website to function.

However, the site uses some content derived from third-party services, such as YouTube videos. We have made every effort to embed this content in the service without using cookies, but in some cases cookies may be used for reasons unrelated to the hus.fi website. For this reason, the visibility of content is tied to analytical cookies, meaning you can prevent content from being displayed and block those cookies by accepting only the use of essential cookies.

For more detailed information about the cookies used on this site, please visit the cookie management tool under Cookie settings. If you have already allowed all cookies or only essential cookies, you can open the cookie settings by clicking the gear icon in the bottom-left corner of the website.

Software used on the website

Drupal

Drupal is the content management system used to maintain the hus.fi website and to display it to users. Drupal does not collect or store any personal information about users.

Matomo

Matomo is a program used to collect information on how the hus.fi website is used. It monitors activity and tracks users’ behavior on the site (such as the most popular content, the most often used devices, and session lengths). The data are used for statistical purposes and to improve the site. The data that the application collects, such as users’ IP addresses, are anonymized and cannot be linked to a specific user or IP address. The software operates without cookies and its functionality is therefore not dependent on analytical cookies.

With Matomo, it is also possible to determine the users’ approximate geographical location based on their anonymized IP address. This information can be used to track, for example, the popularity of the site in different parts of Southern Finland.

Chat and bot services

The website offers chat and bot services designed to make it easier and faster to access information. The services are delivered either on the Boost.ai platform, which is a third-party off-the-shelf solution, or via Microsoft Health Bot, an Azure-based service provided by Microsoft Azure.

Chat and bot services do not collect personal data. The cookies used on these sites are used to store chat window settings between page loads, to maintain the technical interaction of the service, and to store the number of times the bot was used. With Health Bot, service performance and error conditions are monitored using Application Insights which involves two essential cookies used solely for technical diagnostics.

Solutions that support website security and reliability

The website also uses various solutions that help secure the service and ensure its smooth operation. These include, among other things, an application firewall, as well as applications designed for load balancing, performance monitoring, and fault detection.

Applicable law

These Terms and Conditions and any disputes arising from the website or its content shall be governed by Finnish law. Any disputes shall be submitted to the Helsinki District Court.
