Main entrance to Porvoo Hospital will close for three months on March 4
Keywords:Porvoo Hospital’s main entrance and main lobby will be closed from March 4, 2024, onwards due to extensive air duct renovation. The main entrance and lobby will be closed for about three months.
During the renovation in the main lobby, the staff, patients, and visitors will need to use different routes and some services will move to temporary locations. The renovation does not cause any changes to booked appointments.
The main entrance will be open again in June.
Entrance to the hospital via the emergency department
The emergency department’s entrance will be the main route into the hospital during the renovation. The info desk and the self-registration kiosks will be moved to the emergency department. The self-registration kiosks instruct patients to the correct waiting areas.
The laboratory has a separate entrance, which is near the main doors.
Some of the outpatient clinics on the 3rd floor have moved to temporary locations. The café will move to the 1st floor.
Signs will indicate new routes. Staff at the hospital's info desk will also help and instruct everyone to the correct locations.
The renovated main lobby will open in June
The aim is to finish the renovation in the main lobby in early June.
The renovated ventilation system will improve indoor air quality. At the same time, the main lobby will be furbished with a new ceiling, energy-saving led lighting, and new fire detectors.
After the main lobby, the air duct renovation will continue on other floors of the hospital. The air duct renovation will be fully completed in September 2024.
