The Foundation is a general third-sector operator independent of its founders. The New Children’s Hospital Foundation is developing the concept of the world’s best children’s hospital and is implementing projects together with HUS and the foundation’s extensive support network. The aim is an international cooperation model in which medicine, researchers, technology, the start-up community, and business life meet.

The Foundation promotes children’s medical research, teaching, and specialization in pediatric medicine.

The Foundation has invested in the comfort of child patients, families and staff at the New Children’s Hospital, for example, by building an outdoor area on the terrace floor.

The Finnish Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Pain Management and Research started its operations at the New Children’s Hospital in the summer of 2020, funded by the Foundation. The Pediatric Pain Center promotes the treatment of patients with long-term and severe pain and provides multi-professional assistance to children and adolescents. The Pediatric Pain Center provides consultation services and training for Finland’s pediatric clinics at university hospitals and central hospitals. The center focuses on the research of pain management in children.
