EUHA Members’ Assembly and related events at HUS 2026
Helsinki University Hospital will conclude its presidency of the European University Hospital Alliance (EUHA) in May 2026. On this page you will find all the essential details you need for the Members’ Assembly and related events.
The core event is the official EUHA Members’ Assembly, which will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The Members’ Assembly meets twice a year to set strategic priorities and review Alliance activity. At the Members’ Assembly, each of the members is formally represented by their CEO.
A highlight of the program is the Inspired Professionals Symposium. This high-profile international event will bring together EUHA members, experts, and policymakers to address one of the most pressing global health challenges.
Events
A day dedicated to leading wise choices in retaining inspired professionals and securing critical clinical expertise. Through keynote sessions and workshops, participants will explore the topic from the following perspectives: the availability and mobility of the social and health care workforce in Europe, employee work ability and meaningful work, as well as research and innovation.

On the evening of Monday, May 18, 2026, HUS warmly welcomes participants of the EUHA Members’ Assembly, Steering Committee, and all EUHA Working Group/Network attendees who are joining us in Helsinki to enjoy the Finlandia Exhibition, followed by a dinner at Finlandia Hall.
The alliance’s CEOs and representatives set the future strategy of EUHA. The day includes updates from hospital directors and concludes with the official handover of the EUHA presidency from HUS to Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris. Participation by invitation only.
During the networking brunch participants will hear short pitches on the current and emerging activities and interests of EUHA’s Policy working group, LIVE working group, and Midwifery Network. These short presentations are followed by networking and free-form knowledge sharing between participants over brunch. The brunch is open for all participants attending the event, but requires registration.
EUHA’s Policy Working Group will meet in Helsinki to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and discuss future collaboration across university hospitals.

Practical information
We are delighted to invite you to Helsinki and HUS Helsinki University Hospital for the EUHA events taking place in May.
Registration for the EUHA events will open on March 16th and will close on April 17th, 2026. Please make sure to complete your registration within this period.

The Symposium, Members’ Assembly, and the Working Group/Network meetings will be held in the Meilahti Hospital Area at Meilahti Bridge Hospital (Haartmaninkatu 4, Helsinki). You can find information on how to arrive at Meilahti Bridge Hospital on our website.

Dinner will be held at Finlandia Hall (Mannerheimintie 13 e, Helsinki).
The easiest way to reach Helsinki is by plane, with Helsinki-Vantaa Airport located in Vantaa, about 17 km from the Meilahti Hospital Area. The most convenient transportation option to Meilahti Hospital Area is taxi. Note that the taxi prices vary depending on the operator. To avoid surprises, agree on the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
Traveling between Helsinki city center and the airport is easy and convenient by train (I and P trains) or bus.

Helsinki’s public transport is reliable and easy to use. Comprehensive information on routes and ticket prices is available on the HSL website.
For travel within central Helsinki, trams and the metro are usually sufficient. Trams 4 and 10 provide convenient access from city center to the Meilahti Hospital Area. Tram 4 stops at “Meilahden sairaala”, which is about a 250-meter walk from the campus, while Tram 10 stops at “Töölöntulli”, approximately 400 meters away.
Tickets can be purchased via the HSL app, or with your payment card with contactless payment. You can also buy different types of tickets from some shops, kiosks or service points.
For shorter stays, single or day tickets are recommended:
- AB zone ticket (valid for 80 minutes) covers travel from the hotels to Meilahti Hospital Area.
- ABC zone ticket (valid for 90 minutes) is required for trips to or from the airport

Helsinki offers a broad selection of hotels to accommodate different needs and budgets. Hotels located in the city center, and especially along Mannerheimintie, provide easy access to the Meilahti Hospital area by public transport. (see Public transport in Helsinki above).

Scandic Grand Central Helsinki is located next to the main railway station and is easily accessible from both the airport and the Meilahti Hospital Area. Scandic Park Helsinki is situated near Finlandia Hall and also offers convenient access to the hospital campus. The closest hotel to the Meilahti Hospital Area is Scandic Meilahti (500 meters), making it an easily accessible choice.
