Treatment of allergic diseases

The severity of asthma ranges from mild to severe. The various subtypes of asthma include at least allergic asthma, adult-onset eosinophilic asthma, obesity-related asthma, neutrophilic asthma, and smoking-related asthma.

A genetic predisposition, combined with environmental factors, leads to the onset of asthma. Children and adolescents often have an underlying allergic predisposition, but non-allergic asthma also occurs in all age groups.

Desensitization therapy is typically a long-term treatment administered via injections or sublingual tablets. The goal of the treatment is to increase the body's tolerance to the allergen.

Conditions treated with desensitization therapy include allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and asthma. We also treat severe insect allergies.

Desensitization therapy is most effective for treating eye and nasal symptoms caused by pollen allergies. The effectiveness of treatment varies from person to person and usually continues for several years after desensitization is completed.

The most common early symptoms of anaphylaxis are itching and a prickling sensation on the scalp, palms, and lips. Widespread skin redness or hives are also common. These symptoms spread throughout the entire body within a few minutes.

An anaphylactic reaction typically reaches its peak within about 10 to 30 minutes. The sooner the symptoms begin and progress, the more severe the reaction is.
