The Poison Information Center received 39,512 calls in 2023. Of those, 31,629 calls were related to an actual poisoning or suspected poisoning. 2,363 calls were general inquiries about poisonings or their prevention. Around 33 % of poisoning-related calls involved children under the age of 6.
