We utilize dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) methods tailored to the patient’s developmental level.
Psychiatric Remote Ward for People with Intellectual Disability
Our inpatient care unit for people with intellectual disability also offers remote care. Treatment period at the remote ward offers an intensive, fixed period of care for patients with intellectual disability in situations where the patient’s home environment provides sufficient support for their treatment and rehabilitation, and there is no need for inpatient care around the clock.
At the remote ward, we treat defined sets of symptoms, such as challenging behavior, anxiety, or other psychiatric symptoms. The aim of a treatment period may be the examination of psychiatric symptoms, or reasons behind challenging behavior, and planning further care. The treatment period will be carried out in cooperation with the patient's outpatient care unit.
