At the Emergency Clinic at Porvoo Hospital, we treat patients with sudden, severe illness requiring urgent treatment.
In emergencies, call 112
When health centers are closed, we also provide treatment in cases where it is not necessarily safe to postpone seeking treatment at the local health center until the following day.
The Emergency Clinic is open on a 24/7 basis.
If there is an emergency and you need an ambulance, call the emergency number 112.
The following are such emergencies:
- Chest pain
- Stroke symptoms
- Loss of consciousness
In cases of illness not requiring urgent treatment:
- on weekdays between 08:00 and 16:00, call your local health center
- at other times, call the Medical Helpline at 116 117.

At the hospital emergency clinic, we always assess the need and urgency for treatment first. Based on this, you will be referred to a nurse or physician. Patients are treated in the order of urgency, not in the order of arrival. Because of this, a patient who has arrived after you may be admitted for treatment before you.
