Day Unit and Appointments Taika, New Children's Hospital

We treat patients from all over Finland. 

In the day unit, we administer various medications, such as cytostatics and blood products. We also provide hemodialysis and perform metabolism examinations. Annual follow-ups of organ transplant patients are conducted in our unit. 

We perform certain procedures under general anesthesia, such as bone marrow sampling, removals of central venous catheters, and joint injections for patients with rheumatic diseases. We also provide general anesthesia for other units; for example, we anesthetize patients for the duration of medical imaging. 

At our appointments, we monitor and treat hematology, cancer, kidney, and organ transplant patients after their inpatient period is over.

Patient meals in day activities 

If necessary, we will provide patients with a snack. 

If your child has a less common special diet, please bring your own lunch or contact Day Unit and Appointments Taika one week prior to your arrival.
