Public transport

Whenever possible, we recommend that you use public transport when coming to visit us. See the Helsinki Region Transport journey planner (Reittiopas) for details.

Bicycle parking

There are parking places for about 1,800 bicycles in the Meilahti hospital area. Bicycle racks are located in the yards of all of our hospitals. Most of the racks allow securing the bicycle from the frame, and some are covered. During the city bike season, there are also HSL bike stations located in the hospital area’s immediate vicinity.

Outdoor parking

A fee is charged for outdoor parking in the Meilahti hospital area. 

There are two payment methods available at outdoor parking areas:

• Pay at a pay station before parking. Please note that most of the pay stations only accept coins.
• Pay by mobile device. You can also use the EasyPark and ParkMan apps. For further information, please contact the service providers.

Parking garages

Customers visiting the Meilahti hospitals have access to underground parking garages P1, P2, and P3. The parking garages are open to our customers from Monday to Sunday from 6:00 a.m to 10:00 p.m. A fee is charged for parking in the hospital area. 

Parking begins via the mobile app (EasyPark or Parkman) upon arrival at the parking garage. You can also pay for parking by card at the pay station.

P1 (Haartmaninkatu 4): Access to other buildings in the hospital area is via the outdoor area. The pedestrian exit is via the elevators in Biomedicum 1 (Haartmaninkatu 8). There is a pay station in the elevator lobby at the entrance level in Biomedicum. 

P2 (Stenbäckinkatu 9): There is a tunnel connecting this parking garage to other buildings in the hospital area. Pay stations can be found along the pedestrian routes exiting the parking garage. 

P3 (Zaidankatu 1): There is a tunnel connecting this parking garage to other buildings in the hospital area. Pay stations can be found along the pedestrian routes exiting the parking garage.

Parking spaces for the physically disabled 

Disabled parking spaces are located outside near the main hospital entrances and in the P1, P2 and P3 parking garages near the pedestrian walkways. These parking spaces are free of charge.

The disabled parking permit must be placed inside the car’s windshield so that it is fully visible from the outside. With the disabled parking permit, you can also park in the paid parking spaces free of charge.
