Some HUS patients have received appointment letter intended for someone else in OmaPosti
Keywords:An error in OmaPosti has caused some HUS patients to receive someone else's appointment letter in addition to their own letter.
Some appointment letters sent by HUS on April 7–8 have been directed to wrong recipients in OmaPosti. The total amount of incorrectly delivered letters is not yet known. The error came up thanks to reports from patients who had received letters addressed to other people. HUS IT Management and Posti have looked into the matter.
“Currently, we know that the letters were sent from HUS correctly. The error occurred due to a technical issue in Posti’s system, and Posti is investigating the cause. HUS has halted mailing until the matter has been solved,” says Administrative Chief Medical Officer Teppo Heikkilä.
HUS has already notified the data protection ombudsman of a personal data breach. The persons whose letters were directed to someone else's OmaPosti will be notified by mail.
