Brain and other nervous system function studies
Keywords:We conduct brain and nervous system function tests in our clinical neurophysiology units.
We operate in several hospitals in Uusimaa, Kymenlaakso and South Karelia: in Hyvinkää Hospital, Jorvi Hospital, Kymenlaakso Central Hospital, Lohja Hospital, Meilahti Tower Hospital, New Children's Hospital, Peijas Hospital, Porvoo Hospital, Raseborg Hospital and South Karelia Central Hospital.
We conduct examinations on both adults and children. You need a referral for examinations.
What are brain and nervous system function tests?
Brain and nervous system function tests include:
- electroencephalography (EEG)
- polysomnography (PolAmb)
- neuromuscular function study, i.e. electroneuromyography (ENMG)
- neuronavigation-guided repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, rTMS therapy
You can find more information about brain and nervous system function tests in the Examinationhub in Health Village. Go to Examinationhub.
What are brain and nervous system function tests for?
With brain and nervous system function tests, we investigate disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system and muscle function. In addition, we carry out sleep and alertness studies and examine the functioning of the sensory organs. Our methods are used to study respiratory disturbances during sleep, nerve entrapments, and epilepsy, among other things.
