The ward personnel works in close cooperation with the various specialties. Nursing and its quality are actively developed. Our nursing work is guided by the principle of equality of patients and relatives, and individual encounters. An important part of good nursing is the guidance and counselling provided for patients and their loved ones.

The specialties of our inpatient ward M13 include urology, vascular surgery, endocrinology, and endocrine surgery. Our trained urotherapists support the high-quality care of urological patients. The ward has 15 patient beds on weekdays and 12 on weekends.
VARKO, our early discharge unit, started its operations at inpatient ward M13 in section A in March 2019. You will be admitted on the ward for various elective procedures in the specialties of urology, gastric surgery, gastroenterology, and vascular surgery. VARKO refers to an early discharge unit, 'varhainen kotiutuminen' in Finnish. The purpose of the unit is to provide you with safe postoperative monitoring at a specialist medical care level. In VARKO, we want patient processes to be as smooth and customer-driven as possible. Our goal is to be able to safely discharge you after the discharge criteria have been met within the same day or the next.

Treatment in our clinic requires a referral.
