Transplantation Office, Meilahti Bridge Hospital

We coordinate all organ donations and transplantations starting from the first contact from the donating hospital.

We coordinate the different stages of excision surgery, organize transportation, summon the required personnel, and schedule the organ retrieval and transplantation surgeries. We work in cooperation with other coordinators. One of our coordinators is on duty at all times.

Our office also has the task of handling the centralized list of patients waiting for a kidney, liver, pancreas, or small intestine transplant.

Transplantation Services provides information on any issues related to organ donations and transplants, including the required testing, suitability of donor candidates as an organ donor, and donor care instructions. Transplant coordinators also organize training in donor hospitals and educational facilities.
