In the Stroke Unit of Tower Hospital, we treat acutely ill patients with cerebrovascular disorders whose condition requires special monitoring and care.
You will primarily arrive on our ward from emergency services or other wards in the hospital.
We design each patient's examinations, treatment and rehabilitation individually. We also arrange further treatment and rehabilitation as needed. We provide instructions and advice not only to our patients, but also to their loved ones.
Our treatment team includes personnel specialized in cerebrovascular disorders; a physician, a nurse manager, nurses, and practical nurses. In addition, the treatment team includes a ward secretary, physiotherapist, speech therapist, social worker and, if necessary, an occupational therapist and neuropsychologist.
In the monitoring unit, we also treat patients who are on ventilator therapy, because cerebrovascular disorders sometimes cause disorders in the regulation of respiration. The person responsible for the care of the patients in the monitoring unit is the ward’s specialist in cerebrovascular disorders. Our unit has personnel on duty at all times.
