We monitor overall productivity trends with the cost per patient indicator.
Cost per patient at HUS was EUR 3,245 in 2021, compared with EUR 3,123 in 2020, showing an increase of 3.9%. This increase is explained above all by the fact that in 2020 coronavirus testing drive-in customers were counted as patients, which decreased the cost per patient. The deflated cost per patient increased by 0.8% compared to 2020. Our goal was to decrease the cost per patient by 1% on the previous year across HUS as a whole.
