At the Geriatric Outpatient Clinic at Raseborg Hospital, we focus on the holistic care of elderly people.
Geriatrics is a speciality focused on the treatment and rehabilitation of diseases in older people. Typical topics for treatment and examination include memory disorders, frailty syndrome, comorbidity, polypharmacy.
Geriatric function is based on a holistic assessment of the patient, which takes into account not only acute and chronic diseases and medications, but also changes in functional capacity, memory functions, and social situations. The aim of the comprehensive assessment is to individually identify the best treatment and rehabilitation opportunities for an elderly patient.
As the population ages, the need for geriatric skills increases in all specialties.
The Geriatric Outpatient Clinic operates on a referral and appointment basis.
