New Children's Hospital X-ray unit
Keywords:In the X-ray unit of the New Children's Hospital, we conduct examinations for children. We perform plain X-ray examinations (bone and chest) without appointment and other examinations by appointment.
Register at the self-registration kiosk in the main lobby or in the parking garage and separately also in the X-ray unit lobby, so that we know you have arrived. On weekdays after 4:00 p.m. and on weekends, please ring the doorbell close to the door of the X-ray unit.
Waiting times can be quite long between 8:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. We recommend coming at other times, if possible.
We have a patient lift, e.g., to transfer patients from a wheelchair to an examination table. Please call us in advance if you need to use a patient lift.
More information about patient lifts.
We conduct examinations for children aged 0–15 years who are customers of the HUS area health centers and hospitals.
You will be informed by letter of examinations that require an appointment (for example ultrasound examinations).
Please note that emergency patients requiring urgent care will be taken to imaging first, so other patients may need to wait.
You will also find a laboratory and emergency clinic at the New Children's Hospital.
You are free to choose your X-ray location
Once you receive a referral to HUS for skeletal, chest, or dental X-ray examinations, you are free to choose the imaging unit where you go for the examinations. Most X-ray units do not require booking an appointment.
How do I prepare for examinations and where do I get the results?
Examinations always require a referral. See here for more information on preparing for examinations, on receiving the results, and instructions on ordering copies of your images.
