Surgery and Anesthesia Unit, Meilahti Bridge Hospital

In the Surgery and Anesthesia Unit at Meilahti Bridge Hospital, we perform operations in the specialties of neurosurgery, orthopedics and traumatology, hand surgery, vascular surgery, and plastic surgery.

We operate in 16 operating rooms.

A new activity form in our unit is the RAPTOR suite, which operates at the interface between our surgery unit and our emergency department. This room is for treating severely injured patients and patients suffering from life-threatening hemorrhage, for example.

We work in close cooperation with the Surgery and Anesthesia Unit at Meilahti Tower Hospital.

At the turn of the year 2023–24, a new Leiko/23-hour unit opened in connection with our ward, where we will receive and prepare all surgical patients arriving from home for surgery at the Bridge Hospital and Tower Hospital. Some of our patients will be discharged directly from the Leiko Unit.

We are on call 24 hours a day.
