Eating disorders

In the Eating Disorder Unit, we treat patients with various eating disorders.

Eating disorders are diseases of both the body and the mind. Your worries and concerns can be reflected in eating, and eating may become your way of managing challenging emotions, such as sadness, anger, or loneliness. Your experience of being bullied, difficulties within your family, or your performance pressures in school and in being successful may also be at the root.

The most common eating disorders refer to anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, i.e. binge eating disorder. The majority of those diagnosed with eating disorders are girls and women, but boys also suffer from eating disorders.
