Markku Kuisma is a Specialist in Anesthesiology and an associate professor of Prehospital Emergency Medicine working at the Department of Emergency Care and Services, Helsinki University Hospital. His current position is a medical director of Emergency Medical Services. He has completed European Masters in Disaster Medicine and he is a member in EMS Leadership Network in Europe. He has approximately 100 scientific publications and he has been an editor of Handbook of Prehospital Emergency care for 20 years.
