When you have received an invitation to care

Typically, you will receive an invitation to care by post. It is sent well in advance of the scheduled appointment.

An invitation letter includes the following information:

  • Exact information on when and where to register and at which hospital
  • Information about appointments
  • Instructions on how to prepare for your hospital stay, if necessary

Arrive on time. Your personal identity code will be requested at registration. If you want to, you can have someone (a friend or relative) accompany you to the hospital.

How to cancel your appointment

If you cannot go to the hospital at the scheduled appointment time, cancel the appointment by phone as soon as possible. A new appointment will be scheduled. A penalty fee will be charged for missed appointments not cancelled in advance.

Conditions affecting your treatment

If you have a blocked nose, acute infection, or suffer from some other condition, contact the unit that sent you the invitation, to decide on the best course of action with the personnel.
