We handle miscarriage patients around the clock in our various gynecological emergency clinics, and during office hours in the Gynecological Outpatient Clinics. Miscarriage means the termination of pregnancy before the 22nd week of gestation.

You can go straight to the emergency clinic, if you experience profuse bleeding or are experiencing particularly severe pain. If you have a miscarriage during early pregnancy (before the 13th week of pregnancy) or the situation is not acute, we will primarily treat you during office hours in the Gynecological Outpatient Clinic at Women’s Hospital.

We will perform an ultrasound examination to confirm the miscarriage. We can plan the follow-up treatment, if your uterus is empty and the bleeding is not profuse. If evacuation of the uterus is necessary, the options are medical treatment or uterine curettage under general or local anesthesia. Miscarriage later in the pregnancy (after the 12th week of pregnancy) often begins with the rupture of the fetal membranes, followed by contractions and delivery of the fetus. In this case, depending on the number of pregnancy weeks, we will evacuate the uterus either performing a uterine curettage or using medical treatment.
