In physical therapy at Women's Hospital, we treat patients in the gynecological, delivery and maternity inpatient wards and outpatient clinics who have a need for physiotherapy assessed by a physician.

We provide guidance for pregnant women and women recuperating from childbirth or surgery in the wards in problems related to mobility and functional capacity and in preventing pelvic floor dysfunction. We participate in the assessment and monitoring of motor skills and development abnormalities in newborns, as well as in instructing the parents on how to support the development of the baby.

The physiotherapy outpatient clinic treats women who have various kinds of pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence issues, mild prolapses, or intercourse pain. Pregnant women and women who have recently given birth may be referred by the Women’s Hospital outpatient clinics for a guidance appointment at the physiotherapy outpatient clinic due to, for example, musculoskeletal problems.
