Our ward operates as the admission and inpatient ward for patients who have fallen ill acutely and are in immediate need of treatment. We treat patients who have developed psychosis or severe depression, or are suicidal. In addition, we deal with crisis situations in patients with severe personality disorders, as well as substance-induced psychosis, with the exception of alcohol withdrawal delirium, which is treated in the internal medicine unit. The average stay on the ward is less than 14 days. Our ward works in close cooperation with outpatient clinics, the day ward, enhanced outpatient care, and emergency services.
