Appointment Clinic for Cardiology, Haartman Hospital

At Haartman Hospital's Appointment Clinic for Cardiology, we treat patients on the Internal Medicine Wards and the Emergency Ward for whom we carry out, e.g., echocardiographic studies and exercise electrocardiographic tests using a bicycle ergometer. We conduct studies on coronary artery disease severity, arrhythmias, and medication follow-up evaluation as a joint appointment with a specialist in internal medicine and a nurse. We also perform cardioversions two days a week under general anesthesia.

Patients are admitted to Haartman Hospital mainly from the southern and western areas of Helsinki. Based on a situation assessment, we refer patients who need cardiological follow-up treatment or further investigation either to the Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic at Laakso Hospital or the Cardiac Unit at Meilahti Hospital.
