In the Espoo Unit of the Assistive Equipment Center, we lend primary health care assistive equipment to the residents of Espoo.
We lend the most common assistive equipment, such as crutches, walkers, basic wheelchairs, shower chairs, raised toilet seats, reachers, and sock pullers based on the staff's assessment. You do not need a booked appointment or a referral. You may also borrow these on behalf of your loved one.
You will always need an appointment for borrowing assistive devices that require individual assessment. Assistive devices that require individual assessment include patient lifts, beds, small assistive devices and individual mobility aids (e.g. active wheelchairs).
You can return the assistive equipment you have lent to the return room on the K1 floor of the parking hall from Monday to Sunday between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Our assistive equipment contain a loan number (barcode) that we will use later for returning the assistive devices that have been left in the room.
