Our HUS Geriatric Consultation Unit aims to provide good and individual care for elderly patients, taking into account their physical, mental, and social situation. We pay attention to the multimorbidity, multidrug therapy, memory disorders, increased fragility, and the decline in functional capacity of the elderly. We conduct an extensive assessment of the situation, treatment, and rehabilitation. The assessment team includes a physician, a nurse and often, for example, a physiotherapist, occupational therapist and a clinical dietitian, as well as a social worker.
