We tender the procurement of all medical and general supplies, medical devices and equipment and services for HUS and our other customers in close cooperation with nursing and medical professionals. In addition, we offer our clients advice on procurement matters as well as legal and training services related to procurement. The aim of our procurement services is to ensure the undisturbed operation of medical care and to ensure that procurement is made at an affordable cost on overall economic terms. We want to be a national pioneer in healthcare procurement; a demanding and innovative buyer of products and services who is determined to promote competition on the market and operate in accordance with specific rules and on the basis of solid procurement expertise. Responsibility is an important value for us. We are a partner valued by suppliers and other stakeholders and we actively engage in dialogue with our suppliers. We comply with the Procurement Act in all our procurements. In addition, our operations are guided by the HUS procurement strategy. ## Procurements ### Category model for procurement --- This means that different types of procurement items are divided into the following seven groups: - Surgery, internal medicine and cardiology - Anesthesia and intensive care - Radiation technology and imaging - Laboratory - Primary health care - Health and social services - Services and ICT Each category team employs a category manager and procurement experts. In addition, a separately appointed tendering team supports procurement categories in the tendering process. ### Benefits of the category model The objective of the category division is to achieve more satisfied customers, better supplier cooperation, and better planning of procurement. Customers will benefit from the new model because cooperation between the customer and procurement operations will increase, but also the product, service and equipment expertise of the procurement experts will grow within their own category. HUS as a whole will also benefit from the category model, as it will now have better opportunities to plan its purchases and keep contracts up-to-date. In the tender service, you can read the request for tender documents and submit tenders or requests to participate. Our goal is to conclude long-term framework agreements and annual contracts with suppliers of goods and services. The agreements are binding on the Joint Authority's user units. New contracting parties will be selected in connection with the competitive tendering.
