News - Published on 18.9.2026, 14:37 # Specialized healthcare at HUS among the best in the world In September, Newsweek listed the world’s best specialized hospitals. HUS neurosurgery was ranked 79th, orthopedics 123rd, oncology 177th, and cardiology 194th.  In the comparison of different medical specialties, five specialties from Finnish hospitals were included on Newsweek's list. Four of these are part of HUS Helsinki University Hospital: neurosurgery, orthopedics, oncology, and cardiology. Cardiology at Oulu University Hospital was also included on the list. Newsweek's ranking assessed specialized hospitals in 13 different medical specialties.
