Specialist psychiatric care focuses on outpatient care and most of our patients are treated in our psychiatric outpatient clinics. Our inpatient wards supporting our outpatient services are located in Helsinki in the Psychiatry Center and Ulfåsa, in Espoo at Jorvi Hospital, in Vantaa at Peijas Hospital, Ohkola, Hyvinkää hospital, Lohja Hospital, Porvoo Hospital, and Raseborg Mental Health Center. Our activities have been organized by patient group, and the professors in charge and the experts by experience in each of the divisions take part in the management and development of the activities. Our unit also includes three regional divisions of adult psychiatry, as well as a division for the development of psychosocial treatments and digital psychiatry. We also have specific catchment area responsibilities and national responsibilities. Our aim is to improve mental health services by renewing and integrating them more and more into basic-level services. We coordinate mental health work in the area through, for example, the mielenterveystalo.fi web portal. Likelihood to recommend (NPS) ## Psychiatry Feedback (pcs) 4383 Situation 2.5.2026 -100 60 100 i What is NPS? ## Divisions ### Mood Disorders and General Psychiatry --- The Mood Disorder division includes the mood disorder outpatient clinics and inpatient wards in the Jorvi and Peijas areas, as well as Ward P9 in the Psychiatry Center. Our neuromodulation units operate in the Psychiatry Center, and the Aurora, Jorvi, and Peijas hospitals. Our Psychiatry Consultation Outpatient Clinic operates in Meilahti. ### Psychotic Disorders and Forensic Psychiatry --- The Psychoses and Forensic Psychiatry division includes the psychosis outpatient clinics and inpatient wards in the Helsinki, Jorvi and Peijas areas, as well as the enhanced inpatient care and forensic psychiatry wards located in the Ohkola building at Kellokoski Hospital. ### Centralized Servives --- The Centralized Services includes the three geropsychiatry wards in the Psychiatry Center and the geropsychiatry outpatient clinics in Helsinki, Tikkurila, and Jorvi. The Neuropsychiatry Outpatient Clinic is located in the Rubik building in Pasila and the Inpatient Ward P5 in the Psychiatry Center. The Addiction Psychiatry Outpatient clinic, inpatient ward, and Substitution Therapy Outpatient Clinic are all located in the Psychiatry Center in Helsinki. Our special outpatient clinics operating at Rubik building in Pasila, Helsinki: Gender Identity Clinic, Work Capacity Evaluation Clinic and Sleep Disorder Outpatient Clinic. In Helsinki, our Eating Disorder Unit operates in the Ulfåsa building and the Psychiatry Center. ### Digital and Psychosocial Treatments --- In Finland, the division of IT Psychiatry and Psychosocial Treatments is responsible for the implementation of online therapy, the operation and development of the Mielenterveystalo online service, and the coordination of psychosocial treatments in the Uusimaa region, and the development of associated evaluation activities. ### Adolescent Psychiatry --- The Adolescent Psychiatry division is divided into four areas of responsibility, of which the Helsinki metropolitan area units for examination and acute and consultation services are located in Pasila, Tikkurila, and Matinkylä. Outpatient clinic services in the Helsinki metropolitan area are located in Olari, Leppävaara, Myyrmäki, Tikkurila, and Pasila. The five adolescent psychiatry wards are located in the Psychiatry Center in Helsinki. The adolescent psychiatry outpatient care units in Uusimaa operate in Järvenpää, Hyvinkää, Nurmijärvi, Porvoo, Lohja and Västra Nyland. ### Itä- and Keski Uusimaa Psychiatry --- The outpatient units for acute activities in the Hyvinkää area are located at Hyvinkää and Järvenpää. Wards are located in Hyvinkää Hospital. Outpatient clinics for rehabilitation psychiatry and mood disorders are located in Tuusula, Järvenpää, Mäntsälä, Nurmijärvi, and Hyvinkää. The Department of Psychiatry in the Porvoo area operates at Porvoo Hospital. The psychiatric outpatient clinics and other outpatient units are located in Porvoo, Sipoo, and Loviisa. ### Länsi Uusimaa Psychiatry --- The adult psychiatric wards of the Western Uusimaa line are located at Lohja Hospital, the Swedish-speaking ward P8 at the Psychiatric Center in Helsinki, and the open ward in Raseborg at Ekenäs Hospital. Acute psychiatric outpatient clinics, intensive outpatient care units, and clinics for psychotic and mood disorders are located in Lohja Hospital, Vihti, Karkkila, and Ekenäs.
