# Anesthesia and Surgery Unit, Bridge Hospital Keywords: - [anestesia- ja leikkausosasto](< /en/search?q=anestesia- ja leikkausosasto >) - [perioperative and intensive care](< /en/search?q=perioperative and intensive care >) In the Anesthesia and Surgery Unit at Bridge Hospital, we perform operations in the specialties of neurosurgery, orthopedics and traumatology, hand surgery, vascular surgery, and plastic surgery.  We operate in 16 operating rooms. A new activity form in our unit is the RAPTOR suite, which operates at the interface between our surgery unit and our emergency department. This room is for treating severely injured patients and patients suffering from life-threatening hemorrhage, for example. [The Surgery Preparation and Discharge Unit](/en/patient/hospitals-and-other-units/meilahti-tower-hospital/surgery-preparation-and-discharge-unit " Surgery Preparation and Discharge Unit, Meilahti") is located close to our facilities. There we receive and prepare all surgical patients arriving from home for surgery at the Bridge Hospital and Tower Hospital. Some of our patients are discharged directly from the Surgery Preparation and Discharge Unit.
