# Epidemiological Unit Keywords: - [infection](< /en/search?q=infection >) - [infectious diseases](< /en/search?q=infectious diseases >) In the Epidemiological Unit, we follow the communicable diseases in outpatient care in the HUS area and provide instructions for their prevention and epidemiological clarifications in collaboration with the infectious diseases units of 24 municipalities. ## Opening hours and contact information ## --- In addition, we train personnel working in municipal infectious diseases units, draw up infectious disease prevention instructions for the public and private sector operators in the HUS area, and provide communication on infectious diseases. Our unit is responsible for coordinating influenza vaccinations among hospital and municipality personnel and patients, regional plans for influenza pandemics and, in general, monitoring and preventing communicable diseases. Our partners include, for example, the Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland. Epidemiological management work is organized by Deputy Chief Physician Eeva Ruotsalainen, working alongside an epidemiological secretary and infectious disease nurses.
