An EEG examination can be used to determine, for example, the status of seizure symptoms, acute brain injuries or developmental disorders. - We also perform ENMG examinations, i.e. studies of electrical activity in the peripheral nervous system and muscles to clarify possible nerve damage and muscle disorders. - We are responsible for all pediatric studies to be performed during sleep (polysomnography studies, PSG) in the HUS area and also the most challenging cases on a national level for the purpose of investigating various types of respiratory disturbances during sleep and abnormal tendencies of falling asleep. - In addition, we perform a number of other neurological examinations, such as the so-called evoked potential tests used in studying long nerve pathways. - We are the only clinical neurophysiology unit in Finland focused on examinations of children and adolescents. ## [ How do I prepare for examinations and where do I get the results? ](/en/patient/treatments-and-examinations/laboratories-and-imaging/information-patients-arriving-laboratory-and-medical-imaging-examinations) Examinations always require a referral.
