At the Breastfeeding Outpatient Clinic, we provide support and assistance for breastfeeding. At the Maternity Outpatient Clinic in Hyvinkää, we treat pregnant women who require monitoring in specialist medical care. For example, we treat patients who have a fear of childbirth, and pregnant patients with gestational diabetes or need for special support. We have digital care pathways in place to implement part of our follow-up work. For treatment, you need a referral from a maternity health clinic (neuvola) physician or nurse, or a private physician. Based on the referral, we assess the need and urgency of treatment. You will be informed of the appointment by letter, telephone, or via the Maisa Portal. You can make an appointment for monitoring during late pregnancy (pregnancy weeks 41+5) by calling the clinic yourself. We also conduct prenatal screenings. Prenatal screening is voluntary and free of charge for families. The screening examination is most often performed by a midwife. If the screening examination is carried out at a doctor’s appointment as part of another examination, an outpatient clinic fee will be charged for the visit. If a miscarriage is detected during prenatal screening, a medical examination by a doctor is required, which is subject to a fee. We will make an appointment for screening with a referral from a maternity health clinic (neuvola). You can schedule the appointment online via the Maisa portal.
