Invitations to cervical cancer screening are sent by the number of the date of birth
Keywords:This year, HUS sends invitations to cervical cancer screening by the number of the date of birth. Depending on the municipality, HUS Diagnostic Center receives information about those invited to the screening from the Finnish Cancer Registry in two or three batches.
Previously, invitations were always sent by the month of birth. This meant that recipients received their invitations around their date of birth and everyone born in January, for example, received their invitation at the beginning of the year.
Now, invitations sent between March and June are sent to women eligible for cervical cancer screening born between the 1st and the 10th or the 1st and the 15th of the month, depending on the municipality. Between July and October, invitations are sent to those born between the 11th and the 20th or the 16th and the 31st of the month. Between October and December, invitations are sent to those born between the 21st and the 31st of the month in municipalities that send invitations in three batches.
