HUS recommends that everyone visit My Kanta Pages to acknowledge the receipt of Kanta information

Due to changes related to the wellbeing services counties, all citizens will again receive information about the Kanta Services. Acknowledging that you have received the information in My Kanta Pages is important for ensuring that your client data continues to move smoothly in public healthcare services.

When the wellbeing services counties began operations on 1 January 2023, healthcare and social welfare professionals are, when necessary, able to use your data more extensively than before. Therefore, all citizens will receive new Kanta information across the country.

Clients receive the new Kanta information through My Kanta Pages or when they engage with healthcare services.  HUS recommends that everyone visit My Kanta Pages to acknowledge the receipt of the Kanta information right away. When a client logs into My Kanta Pages, the information will open in a new window on the front page. Clients or persons acting on their behalf will only be able to access My Kanta Pages after confirming that they have received Kanta information.

In the region of Uusimaa, patient data can be shared once the patient has received information about the Kanta Services

In Uusimaa, services are organised by six regions. Uusimaa’s public healthcare service providers may share patient data with each other without the patient's consent. This is made possible once the patient has received information about the Kanta Services. If the patient does not want their patient data to be shared within the region of Uusimaa, they can restrict the use of their data by setting up a denial of consent to data sharing.

By acknowledging the receipt of Kanta information, the client ensures that their public healthcare data is shared between public healthcare service providers and the data is available to the attending healthcare professionals. The principal of accessing the data remains the same as before: the data will only be used in connection with providing treatment or a service.
