Instructions for patients
If you are coming in for an appointment or treatment at HUS within 10 days of being exposed to or infected with COVID-19, contact the unit responsible for your care for more instructions. You will find the contact information in your appointment letter or on the clinic’s website. If necessary, you can also call HUS’s switchboard 09 4711 for contact information.
If you are at risk for a severe coronavirus disease, we recommend wearing a surgical mask when visiting our units. The unit can provide the mask, if necessary.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 with a laboratory test or an at-home test 7 weeks prior to a surgical operation, contact the unit responsible for your treatment where it will be assessed if it is necessary to reschedule your operation due to increased risk for thrombosis.
HUS has limited visitation at its hospitals and other facilities due to the coronavirus epidemic. Read more.
You can safely attend any scheduled appointments, examinations and procedures even during the epidemic. Many illnesses require immediate treatment and postponing the appointment may harm your health.
If a doctor has ordered lab or imaging tests for you, please have them taken before the appointment. If you have symptoms of an infectious disease, do not attend any appointments, examinations, or procedures. Our emergency departments treat patients suspected of infection in facilities separate from other patients.
If your condition and the nature of the examinations allows it, your appointment can be changed to a phone call or an online appointment. Please contact the unit responsible for your care whenever necessary.
