Instructions for patients
It is extremely important that patients do not attend their scheduled appointments or procedures if they have any symptoms of an infection. If you are ill and need to reschedule your appointment, contact the outpatient clinic directly. You will find the contact information in your appointment letter or on the clinic’s website. If necessary, you can also call HUS’s telephone exchange 09 4711 for the contact information.
To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, patients and their escorts over the age of 12 must wear a face mask in all waiting areas, and treatment and appointment rooms at emergency departments, booked appointments, day hospitals, dialysis units, and, if the patient’s condition allows it, also at cardiac units. Please wear a mask before you enter the premises. If you do not have a mask, please ask the staff for one.
You can safely attend any scheduled appointments, examinations and procedures even during the epidemic. Many illnesses require immediate treatment and postponing the appointment may harm your health.
If a doctor has ordered lab or imaging tests for you, please have them taken before the appointment. If you have symptoms of an infectious disease, do not attend any appointments, examinations, or procedures. Our emergency departments treat patients suspected of infection in facilities separate from other patients.
If your condition and the nature of the examinations allows it, your appointment can be changed to a phone call or an online appointment. Please contact the unit responsible for your care whenever necessary.
