Comprehensive care at HUCH Cancer Center

The Cancer Center offers a broad range of support services to cancer patients. In addition to medical care, people with cancer require other support and rehabilitation in the difficult situations they face. The main forms of support are:

Physiotherapy for the swelling or impaired function of a leg
Outpatient Clinic for elderly cancer patients
Pain specialist’s appointment, if needed for the management of severe pain
Psychological support to understand and manage the new life situation
Therapeutic dietitians provide guidance, particularly for overweight patients
Consultation with a social worker on social benefits for cancer patients
A counseling nurse from the Cancer Society of Finland provides information and support for recently diagnosed cancer patients and their family
Urotherapists help and advise prostate cancer patients in bladder function disorders.
Peer support via the OLKA support point
Group information sessions on a healthy lifestyle
Group information sessions on follow-up after radiotherapy and the side effects of treatments
