The Palliative Care Unit provides support for managing difficult symptoms at any stage of the disease. The Palliative Care Unit also employs a pain specialist, who can help patients in finding suitable pain medication for prolonged post-operative pain. The treating physician can refer the patient to the Palliative Care Unit or an appointment with a pain specialist, if needed.
