Nutrition - a healthy and balanced diet

Eating a healthy, balanced diet during and after treatments is very important. Cancer treatments cause various side effects which may affect your appetite or cause vomiting. Loss of appetite, nausea after radiotherapy and chemotherapy, in particular, and transient changes in your sense of taste are common side effects. In some cases, eating becomes impossible due to the performed surgeries, for example. In these cases, special measures are implemented to secure adequate intake of nutrients.
You can ask for advice on a healthy and nutritious diet during treatment and how to return to your normal diet afterwards from the care personnel at the Department of Oncology. For more information, please visit the Cancer Society’s website.
