The Surgical Hospital will treat COVID-19 patients from 9 April 2020 onwards. The patients will be admitted from other HUS hospitals with a referral. 

Patients who have contracted the novel coronavirus or suspect having contracted it cannot seek medical help from the Surgical Hospital directly. What to do if you suspect having contracted the coronavirus?​

Visiting the hospital is prohibited.

Emergency dental care for COVID-19 patients 

Emergency dental care for patients with COVID-19 infection or other acute respiratory infection, as well as patients exposed to the coronavirus, will take place in HUS Surgical Hospital’s emergency dental care clinic, which is open only to these patients. 

During office hours, please contact the dental care in your home municipality. Outside office hours, please call the number 09 471 71110. You cannot book an appointment directly, but a dentist will assess if you need urgent care.

Open Mon–Fri 8:00–21:00, Sat–Sun, public holidays and eves of public holidays 9:00–15:30.


In addition to treating coronavirus patients, the Surgical Hospital has dialysis units with a separate entrance from the south.
