The Clinical Physiology Unit performs pulmonary function tests on children and adults, and exercise tests for the diagnosis of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the monitoring of their treatment. In addition to the measuring of gas exchange and inflammation of the airways, the most important examination methods are related to ventilatory capacity and sensitivity of bronchial contractions.
