The hospital chaplain offers guidance for children, adolescents, parents and the entire family. You can approach the hospital chaplain to discuss your own thoughts, feelings, or life's deep, fundamental questions regardless of religious beliefs. The patient's grandparents can also contact the chaplain. In addition to offering counselling, the chaplain is also responsible for prayer, baptisms and other religious ceremonies.

The hospital chaplain is an employee of the Evangelic Lutheran Church of Finland and has received specific training for this task. Conversations with the chaplain are always strictly confidential and held in a manner that respects the person’s religious beliefs.

The hospital chaplain is a member of a multi-professional team and provides support for the staff performing demanding work.
