The X-ray Unit of the New Children's Hospital is located on the 1st floor of the hospital.

The X-ray Unit is open Mon–Fri 8:00–19:30, and ready to receive emergency patients 24 hours a day every day of the week. If you received an appointment letter, please follow the instructions therein.

Basic radiography of the skeletal structure and lungs is performed without booked appointments for patients under the age of 16 years.  Customers under the age of 16 in HUS area hospitals and health centers can have basic X-ray examinations performed in the X-ray Unit regardless of their home municipality if they have a physician's electronic referral to HUS Medical Imaging Center. Wait times may be long during 8:00–13:30. We recommend that you arrive at other times if possible.

Primary health care examinations such as ultrasounds, imaging of scoliosis, mechanical axis, or long bones are performed with an appointment. Appointment booking is open Mon–Fri 8:00–15:00, tel. 09 4717 3738.

For specialized health care, appointments for ultrasound, scoliosis, mechanical axis and long bones examinations are sent to you via letter from the unit responsible for the child’s care.

Imaging of suspected fractures of patients under the age of 16 takes place in the X-Ray Unit of the New Children's Hospital.
