Play Area and Music Room

4th floor, D wing, elevators 6 and 7

The whole family is welcome to spend time in the Play Area. Staff is available from Mon to Thu, 8:00–16:00, and on Friday 8:00–14:00. Additionally, persons with permitted access are allowed to utilize the facilities every day until 21:00. The Play Area offers ample room for various fun activities for children of all ages. 

The playroom Tiuhti and Viuhti has the space and exciting toys for playing house, playing with dolls, cars and trains, building stuff, and playing games.

In the Vilijonkka room, children can play hospital: they can care for and examine a teddy bear, doll or their parents, for example.

The Tuutikki room offers kids a chance to relax with sand and water play. 

In the Nipsu sensory room, children can lounge in beanbag chairs enjoying various relaxing sounds and lights.

Gallery Nyyti gives children all the tools and material for artistic creation: kids can paint, draw, build with modeling clay, and do crafts.

The mock hospital room Hemuli can be utilized in situations where a child is very nervous about coming to the hospital. A visit to the Hemuli room can be arranged beforehand to prepare the child for coming to the hospital and undergoing procedures.

In the teaching Kitchen Hosuli, children and adolescents can participate in weekly cooking and baking events.

The music room Nuuskamuikkunen is especially intended to serve kids over the age of 12 and their visiting friends and family to spend time in. Patients and their guests can play pool and table soccer, and try their hand at playing instruments and singing. Younger kids are also welcome to spend time in the music room. 
The Play Area also offers guided activities every week.
