About us

The New Children’s Hospital is the leading provider of specialized health care for pediatric patients in Finland. The hospital acts as the main provider of specialized health care for children living in the Helsinki region.

 

New Children’s Hospital in terms of numbers:
1,300 staff members
An average of 100 children will stay at the four wards every night.
Around 300 patients will attend outpatient clinic appointments every day.
An average of 100 children will visit the largest pediatric emergency clinic in Finland daily.
Around 17 patients visit the day hospital daily.
Around 30 surgeries are performed every day, 15 of them are ambulatory.

In 2017:
24 organ transplantations
45 new cancer occurrences
109 premature babies weighing less than 1,500 grams
274 cardiac operations.
