The day hospital treats specific agreed patient groups from various specialisms in accordance with pre-planned treatment processes. An appointment is necessary for the treatment.
The outpatient clinic or inpatient ward of the speciality to which the patient belongs is in charge of the planning and appointment booking of the patient’s treatment, and instructing the patient before the planned treatment.
The procedure or drug therapy planned by the patient’s speciality is handled in the day hospital.
Procedures are performed either in the day hospital’s own procedure rooms or the endoscopy unit, cardiac evaluation ward, operating room, recovery room, or radiography department, for example.
